Registration is NOW OPEN open for Sankofa Saturdays by BCDI NYS.
Our Fall - Winter Experience will begin Saturday October 10th and end Saturday December 19th. You can register here.
CURRICULUM & ACTIVITIES
Community & Culture are our focused explorations. As always, Sankofa Saturdays is Afrocentric, our curriculum will connect the history and cultures of the African diaspora to our lives today and dream-build for the future. We cover geography, study of maps - continents, countries, states and home. We model and engage in community & character building and self-esteem/awareness activities to teach soft skills. We provide hands-on learning to teach life skills. Lunch is provided.
We are very excited to introduce our new Sankofa Literacy Hub where we will engage in focused and fun reading and writing activities (also math and science through games and other activities)! We also added script writing and video production to promote responsible screen practices, build technical skills, and boost literacy and public speaking skills.
